8/27/05 - Buffalo Pictures handles 16mm shoot for Radical Media

A recent United Healthcare spot in Syracuse, NY saw Buffalo Pictures providing location scouting, talent, production crew and equipment services for Radical Media of Los Angeles  Ca.  Shooting took place in three locations, including the Carrier Dome and the football field at Christian Brothers Academy Todd Warfield provided an array of vintage props and Kathi Griffo provided makeup services with her usual aplomb.  Kathryn Mauro was Production Supervisor and Tom Mauro was the Production Coordinator on the project.  Mammoth Productions of Rochester NY handled the grip and lighting.

6/25/05 - Buffalo Pictures handles HD shoot for HBRA

Buffalo Pictures' Kathryn Mauro recently provided location scouting and HD production services for HBRA (Heil Brice Retail Advertising) of Newport Beach Ca.  Shooting took place in Syracuse, NY and Erie and Johnstown, Pa for a regional commercial series on behalf of Syracuse based food service company Penn Traffic (Quality Markets, Giant Foods and BiLo). EMMY award winner Todd Warfield provided art direction and Dina Barone of Dina Barone Creative Group was Assistant Director.

5/30/05 - Buffalo Pictures signs on to produce "Speed Dating" by Joe Elmore

Buffalo Pictures is teeming up with writer Joe Elmore to produce his script "Speed Dating" in Buffalo.  The original screen play is Elmore's second.  Elmore's other current project is "The Trunk" a $6m feature that is slated to start shooting in Atlanta this September.  Tom Mauro will be Executive Produce and Kathryn Mauro will act as the Supervising Producer.  A start date has not yet been set.

 

3/10/05 - Frank Rossi begins new acting classes at Studio Center

Frank Rossi actor in such hit movies as "White Men Can't Jump" with Woodie Harrrelson, "Blue Chips" and "The Criminal Mind" plus soap operas including "General Hospital", "All My Children" and "The Young and the Restless" has started his second weekly acting class being taught at the Studio Center Building on Main Street in Buffalo.  Frank's past students include Jim Caviezel  ("The Passion of the Christ" and "The Count of Monte Cristo" ), and Cylk Cozart ("White Men Can't Jump" and "Conspiracy Theory".

2/18/05 - Buffalo Pictures completes promo DVD for the new Calspan

Working with Buffalo, NY based advertising agency Travers Collins Partners, Buffalo Pictures recently completed a historical DVD detailing the 60+ year history of the Calspan Corporation.  The DVD was used in the launch of the new Calspan, which was recently purchase by a Buffalo based investment team from parent company General Dynamics.  Calspan is internationally recognized for its flight research and automotive crash test facilities located in Buffalo.  Buffalo Pictures was honored to be a part of keeping this important part of Western New York's history here in Buffalo.

2/1/05 - "Blood on the Slopes" begins pre-production 

Buffalo Pictures in conjunction with Great Atlantic Pictures has begun pre-production on the feature film "Blood on the Slopes" which will film entirely in Western New York.  The project, a low budget horror film is set in the ski resort town of Ellicottville, NY about 1-hour south of Buffalo.  Shooting is scheduled to start in early 2006.

 

12/5/04 - Buffalo Pictures inks deal to produce Revengeweb.com the movie

Buffalo Pictures has signed on to provide full production and post production services for Revengeweb.com, a feature length thriller slated to begin shooting in mid-2006.   The story, from a concept by Jay Hogan, revolves around a father's love for his daughter and his fight against ruthless businessmen, high tech web wizardry and unadulterated corporate greed.   Buffalo Pictures has contracted to writer/ producer Frank Rossi to write the screenplay.
